Way of living: Bonjour Brigitte

What do you think of the new home decor trend: Bonjour Brigitte? Inspired by fashion icon Brigitte Bardot. Dutch website Perscentrum Wonen always looks out for the newest trends in the home decor scene. They tell you what to buy for your home this season. Now they came up with a trend full of colour and decoration. We go back to Paris and Provence in the fifties and sixties. We see lots of patterns, colour combo red and pink and several fabrics. It’s a warm, juicy style which you love or hate. Which side are you on?

Colour Palette Of The Week #1

Time flies! This was day 4 already of me being an intern at Sanoma Media. I have a great time! I've got my old place back and it's nice to see everyone again. There are 2 another interns of my age who are friendly and also love new media and design. Next week will my accompanist return from her week in Stockholm. She was there for the Stockholm Furniture Fair & Northern Lightfair. Too bad my internship started this week and not some weeks earlier, then I could have join her!

I also got the chance to know and learn Pinterest. All my colleagues at work are obsessed with Pinterest and think it's the trend of 2012. Now I must admit they're right, I love Pinterest aswell. There are so many beautiful inspirational photographs which you can keep, share and do with it whatever you want. It's so handy!

Ok, to come back at the title of this post: I do a lot of things for Kleurinspiratie and what the heg, I love colour! I looked at all the articles and blog posts and got inspired. They have a weekly column called: Colour Palette Of The Week, and I was glad when I saw the previous posts. Then I got the idea to do that also for my blog! Here I have a great example. A beautiful picture which I photoshopped and put some colour pallets in it. And tada, here's the result! What do you think? Great colour combination? Or a colour fiasco?

Inside Design #4: Elrington

Welcome to a new Inside Design! My monthly column where we take a sneak peek of the interior design and architecture of houses and apartments, in the make or finished and for sale.

What's new, we're in London again! I had my eye on this beautiful Victorian House with a large glass extension. The people who live there now has obviously something with green. First: the modern kitchen. I like the green shiny tiles. And the green colour that's been used for the walls (army) doesn't make the space darker or smaller. Indeed, it brings region and comfy in the room. At the floor we see a dark coloured fishbone parquet, which I totally adore! I also find the stained glass door in the living room very nice. Is it typical for houses in London to have a chimney in every room? Living room, bedroom and even the bathroom! Oh well, when we look at the total package, this house has almost everything you want.

So why waiting? Make an appointment to visit this gorgeous house in East London. And who knows, it might be yours soon!

Colour Catch #1: Lime and Turquoise

There goes my promise to you that I would blog everyday! My apologies. This is the last blog of this year. And also a new column: Colour Catch! I'm a big fan of heavy colours, but I like the pastels and the regullary black and white as well. I (hopefully) show you every month a photo of an interior with colours that inspires me, cause of the combination or because it's trending in fashion world.

We begin with Lime green and Turquoise. Many clothes of mine are turquoise, cause it's a colour I wear often and feel comfortable in it. Lime was back in 2005 a very popular colour in the interior scene. I found this photo and saw the outstanding walls what got my attention. Now I was curious in how far I could find photos of clothing and accessories in that colour combination. This was quite easy actually. In no time I had found the perfect shoes and the most beautiful neckless I've ever seen!

Come take a look!

At last I want to wish you all a stunning New Years Eve and a great and healthy 2012! I can't believe 2011 is over in a few hours. What a strange idea, isn't it?? Well, have a nice evening (don't drink too much champagne and be careful with firework! ;-)

Lots of love,

Lisa
