Food photos

Mijn pinboard Food loopt al aardig op met mooie foto's van etenswaren. Meestal zijn het foto's van zoete snacks, maar ook cocktails of andere drankjes, soms zelfs complete maaltijden! Ik kan het niet helpen heel even naar deze smakelijke foto's te kijken en vervolgens 'klik!' te pinnen. Ben jij al bekend met het fenomeen Pinterest? En zo ja, wat pin jij dan zoal? Ik hoop dat je net gegeten hebt want wat je nu te zien krijgt zorgt voor een warm en knorrig gevoel in je buik! ;-)

Happy Father's Day!

I simply just LOVE old photos! About a month ago I found this one of me and my dad. I knew from that moment that I would use it for Father's Day. My sister and I gave him his present with breakfast this morning and he totally loved it! What a cutie, don't you think?! The last thing I'm gonna say is: "Dad, you're my father and my friend." ♥

It's March!

Hi there!

Sorry you haven’t heard from me lately, I wasn’t very busy.. I just had an inspire less week, that’s all! ;) Now we’re welcoming a new month and Spring is almost a fact! The weather gets better and I see the trees outside gettin’ greener. I’ve noticed that my mood gets better too.

So what are your plans for this lovely month? This Sunday I’m hopefully gonna see Rupert Blackman perform in cafe Lust in Utrecht. This has been on my to do list for months now and I still haven’t got the chance to do it. If I go, I’ll try to make some photos (also of Utrecht itself). Will be continued..



Oh, before I forget: here’s my top 10 list of things I liked this week:

• I totally fell in love with this cute ceramic owl vase by Danish brand the House Doctor.

• Last Wednesday, February 29 was the Pinkpop press conference in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Mumford & Sons, James Morrison, Keane, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure and many more are coming!

• Good news! Forever 21 is finally making their entrance in The Netherlands. Starting with Amsterdam, but maybe in the future also in Rotterdam and Utrecht.

• I was on the road when I heard the new single Shadow Days of my all time hero John Mayer. Album is coming May 22, can’t wait!

• Etsy opens a showroom just for 2 days (March 31 and April 1) in Utrecht, where you can stop by and check out some advertisers and their handmade things.

• Tomorrow opens the Apple Store at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam. Sources are saying that the architecture and design are very high tech and flawless. Hm, I’m curious. Maybe I take a look these days..

• Finally! 2 bands are releasing their albums today: Scars & Stories by American rock band The Fray and the debut album of the British indie band Morning Parade.

• The Dutch Asos, Zalando comes with a Home collection. Yeah! :)

• Spotted on the vtwonen blog!

• A colleague of mine at Sanoma (also an intern) went to the IKEA press conference last Monday. They were introducing their new Outdoor collection. Love the colour combo: pink/yellow/black!

Cork floor

We all know some types of flooring: tiles, laminate, carpet or.. cork! What did you say?  Yes, cork flooring is hot these days. In the 70's did we used cork for the walls, to hang our posters of popstars we liked (altough that's what my mom always told me and did when she had my age). Now I have found a company with a great website and lots of information. They deliver cork in all types and colours you can imagine! Maybe you should take a look. You'll find the source beneath the photos. Is it something for you and your interior? Or do you stick with what you have?

Walk-in Closets

Who doesn't want to have a beautiful walk-in closet? It's a dream of many many girls. Well, it's also one of mines! A second room next to your bedroom where all your clothing, accessories, bags and shoes are. Isn't that amazing?! For me, it sounds like music in my ears :) What about you? Do you hear the music? Friendly Fires

Hi there!

Having a fireplace in your home gives your interior a boost! Well, if you like it ofcourse. If you don't, then this article won't be interesting for you. Today I'm gonna show you in what kind of interiors fireplaces have been used. When I moved to my new house we all wanted to have a fireplace, but we didn't have enough space for it, unfortunately! Here in Holland we have very modern ones. But a big chimney is also very cool! When I see American programs as Extreme Home Makeover and Cribs it always noticed me how many American families have a chimney. So I think fireplaces are popular all over the world. Which one of these photos do you like? Are you going for contemporary or rustic?

Goodmorning! :)

As you might read it on Twitter, I've got a cold and don't feeling very well :( That's why I'm home today. To rest out and hoping feeling better tomorrow. Well, there's one good thing in this, now I have finally all the time of the world to blog! :) After my internship at Sanoma I don't feel like blogging because it takes some time and I already do that a lot. But today, on this sunny Wednesday, I'm gonna blog for you :) I have discovered a great new site called Flickr. (you might have heard of it ;-) It has such a cool photos! I always use Shutterstock for nice pics, but it's not a very good site when you need good interior design ones. Well, Flickr does have those photos and much more! When I worked at Ikea it notice me how popular photoframes are. And especially those shelves where you can put them into and don't have to make a hole in your wall. I see it very often in magazines and I think it's a huge trend! Well, these photos do not have shelves but are very inspire full! Oh, and about Ikea.. it's of the running. The department where I wanted to work has no room for me. So I've decided to quit at all. I don't feel like going to an other department where I don't know anything or anybody. I'm also in my last year of school and I've got a really busy year with my exams and internships, so for me, there's actually no use to work this year. I only wanted to stay because I liked the job and the colleagues. But hey, that's life. There will be many other opportunities in the future, so I stick to that!
