It's March!

Hi there!

Sorry you haven’t heard from me lately, I wasn’t very busy.. I just had an inspire less week, that’s all! ;) Now we’re welcoming a new month and Spring is almost a fact! The weather gets better and I see the trees outside gettin’ greener. I’ve noticed that my mood gets better too.

So what are your plans for this lovely month? This Sunday I’m hopefully gonna see Rupert Blackman perform in cafe Lust in Utrecht. This has been on my to do list for months now and I still haven’t got the chance to do it. If I go, I’ll try to make some photos (also of Utrecht itself). Will be continued..



Oh, before I forget: here’s my top 10 list of things I liked this week:

• I totally fell in love with this cute ceramic owl vase by Danish brand the House Doctor.

• Last Wednesday, February 29 was the Pinkpop press conference in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Mumford & Sons, James Morrison, Keane, Bruce Springsteen, The Cure and many more are coming!

• Good news! Forever 21 is finally making their entrance in The Netherlands. Starting with Amsterdam, but maybe in the future also in Rotterdam and Utrecht.

• I was on the road when I heard the new single Shadow Days of my all time hero John Mayer. Album is coming May 22, can’t wait!

• Etsy opens a showroom just for 2 days (March 31 and April 1) in Utrecht, where you can stop by and check out some advertisers and their handmade things.

• Tomorrow opens the Apple Store at the Leidseplein in Amsterdam. Sources are saying that the architecture and design are very high tech and flawless. Hm, I’m curious. Maybe I take a look these days..

• Finally! 2 bands are releasing their albums today: Scars & Stories by American rock band The Fray and the debut album of the British indie band Morning Parade.

• The Dutch Asos, Zalando comes with a Home collection. Yeah! :)

• Spotted on the vtwonen blog!

• A colleague of mine at Sanoma (also an intern) went to the IKEA press conference last Monday. They were introducing their new Outdoor collection. Love the colour combo: pink/yellow/black!

Design Desk

How is your Sunday? I was looking around at the Myhomeshopping site for nice things (furniture, deco etc.) Then I found this cool desk from a German furniture brand called Jahnke. The top is glossy white, it has 2 pink drawers and shiny metal legs. It also has a fluor pink strip in the back where you can connect your iPod or iPad. How cool is that?! My desk is almost falling apart (the drawers won’t close anymore) so I could use a new one. But now I have a desk of 140 x 70 cm and this one is only 120 x 60 cm. A little too small for me. But hey, maybe it’s something for you?

Have a great weekend!

So, what are your plans for this (rainy) weekend? I have nothing to do for today (anyone ideas??) But, this Sunday do I have something on the planning. We go to Utrecht again (we totally love that city) and in the afternoon, we're going to cafe Lust where Rupert Blackman will perform with his band! That's something my mom and I are really looking forward to (because we both seen him live before!)

And then Monday: "Sinterklaas!" A Dutch holiday with also an old man with a white beard (when I was little I believed he and Santa Claus were brothers) Luckely, I don't believe in Sinterklaas anymore, but it's always so nice to see those happy children dressed up like "Zwarte Piet" and Sinterklaas himself! At home, we don't celebrate this holiday anymore (only Christmas) but.. I don't know, it might be a day full of surprises!

This busy week is continuing! Yesterday I ran off to the Melkweg in Amsterdam, to buy four tickets for The Boxer Rebellion on Wednesday December 7. I'm so thrilled to see this band live! They were guests Friday morning at my all time favorite radio show Giel! And then I realised I haven't bought tickets yet!

On Friday December 9, I have a reunion with my old classmates from High School (2004-2006) and the last time I've seen my friends was about two years ago! We're having dinner at a fancy place at the Koemarkt in Purmerend and we're eating tapas! I can't wait to see everyone again! I'm so curious how they're doing these days..

But yesterday was also a very good day! After the regular lessons: English, Dutch and Marketing do we have every Friday: Art & Design (a new school subject) Last week we went painting and this week we're going out to the city! As you might have heard, Amsterdam is a beautiful inspirational city where you can make lots of nice pictures. We went to several art galleries and ended the day at the Leidseplein with hot chocolate! Here I have some photos of that day.

Wake Up Call

Hi everyone! :)

Sorry, I know I haven't post much this week. I must confess I had a very Inspire-less week with a lot of boredom. Altough I have given a new boost to my pages! So if you're interested and you've never seen my pages before, take a look at them now! The only thing that is changed are the photo's. The're bigger now and are from a better quality.

What I also did this week was saving this cute pattern from Shutterstock, where I'm always on when I'm bored or have nothing to do. So that's first, second.. my next blog is probably about my last week at Ikea. I'm not sure if I can stay, altough I really want to, because I liked it very much this Summer, working there. Next week will be a busy week! 40 hours working and Sunday the 70th birthday of my grandma :) Me, my parents, Amber, uncle and aunt and of course my grandmother- and father are going to the musical 'Soldaat van Oranje'. Maybe you'll recognize the title. It was a huge film, back in the seventies with the Dutch top actor 'Rutger Hauer'. After the musical we're having diner, and that will also be very nice. Absolutely :)

Sunny Weekend

Hi everyone!

What are your plans for this nice weekend? Today I'm going to my (back)family in Bussum. We have a sort of reunion every year with a barbecue. I love that! It's always nice to see everyone again and see how there doing. Tomorrow plays Waylon and band in Vondelpark Amsterdam. I've been to a lot concerts in the Vondelpark this year. For me there's nothing better than on a Sunday afternoon going out in the park to a free concert. O gosh, I just looked on the calender and see that the vacation has only 2 weeks left! That means, hard working at Ikea and relaxing when I have a day off. Altough going to school again and see my friends is not so bad for me. And I'm very excited to begin at my internship at Sanoma. Anyway, I'm looking really forward to this year. My last year! What's gonna bring it for me? I let you know, of course ;) But that's future talk. For now, just relax and enjoying your holiday, ok? :)
